Climate Change Adaptation (CCA)

Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) strategies are strategies aimed at developing resilience to the adverse impacts of climate change.

CCA involves:

  • Climate change influenced planning

  • Climate Change influenced design decisions.

  • Codes of designs, regulatory requirements, standards and guidelines that have sufficient considerations for observable and anticipated climate changes.

  • Climate Change influenced procedures and approaches for carrying out activities.

CCA is a proactive approach to dealing with the impacts of climate Change. It requires extensive investigation into the trends of climate changes and potential impacts. The outcome of the investigations assist in planning and developing new facilities and procedures that are resilient to the impacts of future climate changes.

Adaptation requires extensive collaboration of several professionals, government establishments and several stakeholders.
