Powering East Africa

From Mar 25, 2015 to Mar 27, 2015

Powering East Africa, part of a series of stakeholder-led meetings designed to connect African Governments, utilities and regulators with investors, will center on "breaking the transmission barrier," or the requirements for unlocking investment in power transmission to increase energy access and support regional growth and development. Panel discussions will focus on, inter alia: the role of power utilities in unlocking the transmission barrier; the role of the East African Power Pool (EAPP) in delivering cross-border transmission; financing of transmission networks, including barriers to private sector participation; and global transmission and distribution models.
