The Alexandria Chamber
of Commerce as the president of the environmental commission of the ASCAME,
is planning an environmental week in Alexandria – Egypt during the period
from 13-16 June 2009.
The event which is under the auspices of H.E. Dr.
Ahmed Nazif, The Prime Minister of Egypt will include a symposium on
"SELECTED ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION"
at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES:

3. Environmental pollution
4. Maritime Transport and Marine
Environment
5. Environment measures and regional
trade
6. Environmental Economics
7. Environmental Policies
8. Towards a common environmental
strategy in the Mediterranean region
This event will bring
together, Ministers of Environmental Affairs from several Mediterranean
countries, Heads of Chambers of Commerce, C.E.Os of large Egyptian and
foreign corporations, entrepreneurs and academicians from several
countries of the world.
Some of the expected
guest speakers at the symposium include: Dr. Mostafa Tolba, Director
ICED, Dr. John Lewis, Professor of environmental biology-University of
London, Professor Hussein Abaza, Head of economics and industry unit-UNEP,
Francesco Saverio Cvili, MED Pol Coordinator-UNEP amongst many
others.
Expected visitors to
the exhibition include top decision makers from major Egyptian and foreign
corporations from the chemical, oil& gas, petrochemicals, cement,
fertilizers, tanneries and the paper industry as well as hospitals and
governmental agencies concerned with the environment, all of whom will be
seeking new technologies to solve old environmental problems.
It is in the light of
the above that we express our pleasure inviting you to this international
event as an institutional partner.
